Queensland Museum – SparkLab Video.
We’re always on the lookout for the next big thing
At the end of the day we’re all big kids at heart. So, when we got to work with Brisbane’s Sciencentre on a video for their latest rebrand, we couldn’t wait to start having some fun.
What needed to be done
2018 saw Brisbane’s much loved Sciencentre rebrand itself as well as redesign and upgrade its exhibitions after nearly fifteen years without change. The new exhibition encourages kids to really think about and examine the world through the eyes of a real scientist and make observations not only about what they’ve seen, but the world around them as well. So, when the centre came to us with a new name, ‘Spark Lab’, and a new approach to how kids learn, and asked us to create a 15 second teaser video for them, we were very excited to get to work.
What we did
We created a video with pretty much total creative freedom. Our brief was simple – to include the words ‘Play, Question, Test, Observe and Talk’ as well as the centre’s logo. And of course, capture the essence of what Spark Lab is all about – getting kids to engage with science through their own lived experiences. By using the elements of Spark Lab’s exhibitions, we were able to create something that really showed off how exciting the new Spark Lab (and science in general) actually is. The result was a video that not only looked cool, but that got to the heart of what the new Sciencentre is all about.
Need-to-know best bit
The open brief allowed us the freedom to be as creative as we wanted to be. Working with such great clients is always a pleasure when together you can create something you’re both proud of.
